On the 18 month scaffolding Apprenticeship, you will gain all the skills and knowledge needed to kick start your career in this area of the construction industry.

The CITB Scaffolding apprenticeship scheme consists of 11 weeks in the training centre spread across the 18 months. The 11 weeks comprise of 5 two-week courses; Foundation part 1a, part 1b, part 2a, part 2b and finishing with the final assessment week.

Candidates will cover NASC Guidance, British/European Standards as well as health & Safety regulations on route to completing NVQ Level 2 and Diploma Level 2.

CISRS System Scaffold Product Training Scheme (SSPTS) – Genlok & Altrad Futuro (Plettac)

PASMA – Towers for user

Manual Handling & Emergency First Aid

Construction Diploma Level 2

NVQ Level 2 Access and Rigging

Functional Skills Level 1

CISRS Trainee card on completion of foundation

CISRS Scaffolders card on completion of the full programme.


All companies who are CITB Levy payers are eligible for training grant aid of up to £6000.00 per successfully completed candidate with an employer contribution of £995.00 +VAT per delegate.

The Go Construct site supports and advertises events running nationally promoting career options within the construction industry for both school leavers and those looking for a change of career.  There are also vacancies advertised on the site as well as contact details and pointers advising how to get started. 

Generation co-developed our own annual event; Give Construction a Try in conjunction with the CITB & Keepmoat to promote the many paths available.  Aimed at showcasing the diverse range or trades and professions through demonstrations from both training providers and experienced construction experts.  The event is free to attend and provides access to over 30 different exhibitors who can help aspirants understand the specifics of each trade, the training routes and what it’s like to work in the construction industry.
